Long time no see ;)

It's been a while again, just like usual. ;)
The iDrive project has been on hold for a little while, during the winter. But we're back in business! Project iDrive is coming along nice now as you can see on the brand new project page
At the moment the panel is finished, and just needs some paint.
Aside from the dashboard, I've fitted new yellow xenon lights. Making a yellow car, just that bit more yellow ;)
And after a long winter on boring winter wheels, it was about time to cleanup the Superturismo's! Last year my rear-right brake was stuck, resulting in a really, really dirty wheel. Brake dust burned in, and almost unpossible to remove..
After some searching on the interwebs I found Iron X.. It works, but it smells really bad..
Project iDrive

After all the exterior changes and upgrades it's time again to take on the inside of the car. The carPC touch-only interface is starting to annoy me a little, so time to create some buttons. An iDrive like solution would be nice, so thats what I'm going to build!
Check the progress of the project here on the super special iDrive project page!
For this project I'm using the 3Dconnexion Space Navigator, which will interact with Centrafuse 4 for an iDrive like experience. I've set some requirements for the solution I'm going to make, just to make it al little challenging ;)
1. The panel should be easily attached and deatched from the dash.
2. The panel should be tough.
3. It should look good (of course)
4. The Space Navigator is left in 1 piece for re-use should this not work.
So with that taken care of, time for a design. This is the simple photoshop drawing of what I have in mind:
Check out what happend so far on the project page
Time for an update!

It has been a while again since I reported here.. Such a shame, I know.. So here goes again!
About a month ago I stopped at a traffic light, just as usual. My head wasn't in a 'race-mode' so drove of as calm as I could (;)) and then all of the sudden rttrtrrtttrtrtrtrtrtrtrtrtrtrtrtrtrrrrrrt
Broke the right front axle. That sucked. I just washed it! And it was extra bad, because I just painted the towing eyes a week before! So after towing, I ran to to the front and as if a mirracle had happend, the fresh paint wasn't damaged! Whoohoo!
Thankfully, a donor provided a new axle, and I was on my way again the next day.
And sometimes, a picture just needs to be shared:
And I finally got to do some work under the hood. Mr. Intercooler got properly connected, the towing eyes got a bright new shiny color, Upper and lower strutbrace.. Found a picture lying around, just thought I'd share
and finally le pièce de résistance. The beeza at sundown:
Seeing this picture, I realize I need spacers at the rear again.. 10mm/15mm should do the trick.. right..?

So, it's finnaly time to really widen the rear! The rear stub axle spacers arrived today, and I can't wait to fit them!

Off course, these above aren't all mine.. the ones in the middle, the 'fifties' are mine!
First-ever Centrafuse plugin from me!
Posted by: Hakko
Hi, I'm back again! this time with something completely different!
I have created my first ever app/plugin for Centrafuse, so I hope you like it!
With this app you can see the current weather conditions. I don't like the standard weather plugin, because I just can't read the text on my 7" screen, plus this adds more infos too!
Basicly the app consists of 4 screens:
1: The weather prediction
2: Weather waranings for today and tomorrow.
3: The current temperature conditions
4: An animated rain radar.
This app is controlled with gestures. So when you swipe to the left, it will slide that way. (see video) The text is also touch scrollable!
For now this app is just available in Dutch with info for the Netherlands but I hope to extend it for more countries. I you want this for your country too, please provide me with the following files:
A source with a weather prediction in clear text
2 images with weather warning, and optional a bit of explaining text
A temperature map, or an other relevant image with weather infos
A animated gif with a rain radar.
With this being my first app, all comments, suggestions are welcome!
Pretty YouTube video:

Note; This is an external App, so you need to embed it. Windows name is KNMI.
and you need Adobe AIR to run it.

SneakPeak for Wintermode; V1.2

I hope to install it on the car next weekend :)
